Yet somehow this tree does not grow fungus on its bark. Scientists studying the bark have found that it contains lapachol and beta-lapachone, two compounds that help this tree provide important anti-fungal properties. (These compounds are noted for their activity against fungi and microbes.) This bark also contains significant amounts of the antioxidant quercetin. Pau D’Arco Lotion contains natural seed oils known for their moisturizing properties and their ability to help the skin retain moisture.These include sunflower, coconut fruit, macadamia seed and olive seed.
